	RE:	Chris Walters v. United States Marshal: Civil Action No A-99-CA-098-SS

Dear Mr. Walters:

	This office has received information that you have instituted an action 
against the United States.

	As of this time, you have failed to properly serve the United States as
required under Rule 4 of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.  I must ask that you
serve the United States with the summons and complaint as contemplated by Rule 4(i)
of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures.

	Rule 4(i) directs that service upon the United States shall be effected by
delivery of a copy of the summons and complaint to the United States Attorney for
the district in which the action is brought (or upon an Assistant United States
Attorney or clerical employee designed by the United States Attorney in writing filed
with the clerk of the Court in which the action is brought); or by registered or
certified mail addressed to the civil process clerk at the U.S. Attorney's office;
and by sending copies of the process and complaint; by registered mail, or by certified
mail, to the Attorney General of the United States, United States Department of
Justice, 10th & Constitution Ave, N.W. Washington,D.C.  20530.

	The following individuals are the only agents designed to accept delivery
of service or process for the United States Attorney for Western District of Texas:

		Raymond A. Nowak: Denise Swain
		Augustina Corea; Vernell Everett;
		Maria McLaughlin: Rita Balderson.

Each of these individuals are located in, the San Antonio Division at the U.S.
Attorney's office located at 601 N.W Loop 410, Sutie 600, San Antonio, Texas.

	Pursuant to the same rule 4(i)(a)(A), Vernell Evertee has been designated
asthe "civil process clerk" who whom the mailings of a summons and complaint by
registered or certified mail to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of 
Texas should be addressed as follows:

	Please perfect service in this matter as contemplated by the Federal Rules

is not properly joined in your actin.  Additionally, it should be noted that
the United States does not waive service in this case.

	Finally, the United States is afforded sixty (60) days after such service
to answer, plead, or demus. Rule 12(a) Fed.R.Civ.P
